ADHD Coaching

Coaching Clients:

ADHD Coaching for Parents

Your kid has ADHD, you may or may not have ADHD, your co-parent may or may not have ADHD, other siblings may or may not have ADHD. This parenting thing is no joke. It’s tough. Add ADHD into the mix and the challenge just ramped up exponentially. I am a trained ADHD Coach, a single Mother with ADHD, with a co-parent with ADHD, with 2 kids with ADHD. I’ve been there and around the block a few times.

I’m here to support you talking to your kid (s), getting home life sorted out (chores, cleaning, paperwork, getting along) and supporting your kid(s) education (talking to teachers, IEPs, assessments, talking to medical providers. Add to all this being in charge of everyone’s wellbeing (eating, sleeping, hygiene, mental health).

ADHD Coaching for Adults

I coach adults on any area of life that feels like it’s not working as well as you’d like it to - through a lens of ADHD awareness:

  • Later-in-Life ADHD Diagnosis - grief, learning, skill-building

  • Workplace/Career Coaching

  • Self Employment Coaching

  • Entrepreneur Coaching

  • Financial Management Coaching

  • Relationships Coaching

ADHD Coaching for Teens

Ages 14 - 18 - Highschool

ADHD in Highschool can really kick your butt - but there are many things that can be done to help you get through the work without loosing your mind. I know anxiety and depression can go hand in hand with unmanaged ADHD - and that’s not the life I hope for you.

Coaching is not giving advice or telling you what to do. I am a caring listener, I ask questions, I notice what’s important to you, and help you make plans, practice new habits, improve relationships, even helping talk through challenges with friendships, relationships.

It can be hard to talk to parents or teachers at this age, when the same frustrations keep coming up, and it seems like things can’t get better. But they can, and they will. Knowing how your ADHD Brain works is the first step. Working with it, not against it, is the next step.

The ultimate step is when you really know how your brain works and you can set up your life in a way that you feel pretty good, most of the time, and you’re living a life that feels good and gets things done.

Family Coaching

If one person has ADHD in a family - there are already challenges that take some navigating and learning. But that’s not likely - there’s probably one parent or more, more than one kid. Home life is likely loving and a little chaotic.

I’m interested to teach about ADHD and coach families on how to best live and work together to thrive as a family and individually. Let’s make your home life a haven for every member, understanding how each one operates. Understanding what’s happening in an ADHD brain can make all the difference between an issue becoming a fight or an opportunity to brainstorm a better solution.

We can do a series of individual coaching sessions with several whole family meetings. I can custom design some learning sessions and/or facilitate family meetings to set up some structures and routines to support the whole family.

I’ll listen to your needs and propose some options.

What is a ADHD Coach?

An ADHD Coach is a dedicated listener.  An ADHD Coach ask questions to move you deeper into what you want for yourself – in any area of life.

An ADHD Coach does not tell you what to do or offer advice.  I am confident that you have the answers within you, if we tap into it.

The essence of coaching is simple and elegant.  A Life Coach listens and asks questions.  The questions are aimed at deepening your self-understanding and the clarification of your values and priorities and this informs the directions and actions that you commit to.  The coach stands for you taking purposeful action in the areas of life that are important to you.

You know you.  I respect that.  Deeply.

But you may not have been asked what YOU want and need through your life.  You may not have taken the time to choose your path – you did what parents, culture, social norms, ideas of success suggested.

And ADHD has an added layer.

Often we don’t actually understand ourselves because ADHD symptoms show up as what may would consider character flaws. Difficulty starting things or finishing things, very low or very high energy, hyper focus or no focus, time blindness, and so much more. Our self esteem or sense of self has taken many hits, and it’s hard to be optomistic about the future sometimes. I’m here to support people with ADHD - from kids to teens to adults - to know themselves so well that they can thrive and thrive today and create a life that is compelling and meaningful.

ADHD Coaches also tend to teach about ADHD as needed, in the coaching session, to correct many misperceptions about what is ADHD related and what is not. A skilled ADHD can weave in teaching without it dominating the session.
